This State is Officially an Opioid Disaster Zone

Governor Tom Wolf signed a public health Statewide Disaster Declaration today, initiating a concerted effort to fight against the pernicious opioid epidemic. For the 41st time, Gallup International has released their Global End of Year Survey, polling 55 countries on the topics of hope, happiness, and economic optimism. Three countries in Latin America made the Top Ten, but one country in the region scored in the bottom tier.

Action Wellness has been providing hope to Philadelphians living with (or at risk of) HIV/AIDS via pre-exposure prophylaxis medication, prevention education, case management, testing, and overall support since 1986. Its office is featured in the pioneering drama Philadelphia, starring Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, and Antonio Banderas, widely regarded as the first mainstream film to depict a sincere narrative on homosexuality and homophobia.
