Originally from Philly, I have also worked as a journalist in Medellin, Colombia for the news outlet, Colombia Reports. Before changing career tracks, I spent 4 years managing projects in Central and South America for a USAID contractor out of Washington, D.C. I graduated from Tufts University in 2012 with a B.A. in international relations.

Shapiro joined AL DÍA last week to discuss the Office's prosecutions of predator priests for sexual abuse of children, leaving open a hotline for the public to continue denunciation of cases beyond the 1,000 uncovered by a Grand Jury Report.

Pese a los hallazgos recientes del informe del gran jurado, la oficina de Shapiro sólo ha podido presentar cargos contra dos de los 301 “sacerdotes depredadores”, debido a “la debilidad de las leyes y los plazos de prescripción”.

Despite the latest grand jury report’s findings, Shapiro’s office has only been able to bring charges against two of the 301 “predator priests,” because of “weak laws and the statute of limitations.”

Las detenciones en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México se redujeron de 1.64 millones de personas en 2000 a 397,000 registrados en 2018, una caída del 75 por ciento. Aún así, el presidente estadounidense insiste en construir un muro, pasando por encima de la decisión del Congreso en el asunto.
